Thank You, Chesed 24/7: Your Compassion Made a Difference in Our Sukkot

Your support, meals, and the beautiful sukkah at Columbia Presbyterian allowed us to focus on our newborn son during Sukkot without worrying about food or Yom Tov needs.

Dear Chesed 24/7 leadership,
On September 19, 2016, our son Zachary (זאב מאיר) was born at Saint Barnabas in Livingston, NJ. Due to unforeseen circumstances, he ended up at Columbia Presbyterian in Manhattan two days before Sukkot, just before Shabbos began. We had to stay with him through the first days of Sukkot. Thanks to the support your organization provided our family, we could focus more on Zachary’s needs than worrying about kosher food or Sukkot materials. While at Columbia, we did not have to leave Zachary’s side, except to eat in the beautiful sukkah you built for the patients and their families. When Masha’s cousin reached out to you on our behalf between Shabbos and Yom Tov, you sent more food than the two of us could have ever considered eating, which allowed us to give back to your Bikur Cholim pantry, as well as to support us for an extra Chol Hamoed meal as we settled back home.שנה טובה ומתוקה
